Steve Ankenbrandt, a founder of Rock Apartment Advisors, graduated from Auburn University in 1987 and earned an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Georgia in 1992. His career began as a lender at SouthTrust Bank in 1988. He spent eight years as a commercial real estate appraiser and in 2000 entered the investment sales field at Harbert Realty Services. In 2003, Rock Apartment Advisors, was started to provide institutional quality apartment brokerage and research services to secondary and tertiary markets in the Southeast. Since Rock’s founding , the company has brokered over $1.1 billion of apartment properties and currently provides survey services in 7 apartment markets. He is married to Elizabeth and has three kids – Joseph, Lucy, and Will.
Ryan Griffin is on the Sales Advisory Team at Rock, focusing on economic underwriting and capital sourcing. Ryan studied economics and finance at Auburn and the London School of Economics. After graduating, he joined the Rock team and has since developed invaluable relationships and expertise in the apartment industry. Ryan played baseball for the Auburn Tigers and was once a fly fishing guide in Crested Butte, Colorado. He is from Dallas, Texas, is married to Wansley, and has a daughter, Tarver, and a son, Rip.
David Wilson, MAI is part of the Sales Advisory Team at Rock, bringing 18 years of real estate valuation experience to the team. David is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he majored in real estate and insurance. In 1993, David moved from his hometown of Dallas, Texas, to Huntsville, Alabama, to form his own appraisal company. His appraisal company’s focus over the past several years has been providing appraisal, market studies and consulting service for apartment properties. He and his wife Beth reside in Huntsville with their two children – Brandon and Kathryn.
Joseph Holt is on Rock's Sales and Advisory Team. He is from Auburn, Alabama, and graduated from Auburn University, majoring in Entrepreneurship and Family Business with a minor in Finance. During his college years, Joseph spent a summer as a Rock Intern, then joined the Rock team upon graduation.
Bill Ware, a native of Tampa, Florida, is a graduate of Loyola University, New Orleans, LA. Bill has been a State of Florida licensed commercial mortgage broker since 1987, arranging construction and permanent loans on apartment properties in Florida and Alabama. He is also a licensed real estate broker in the State of Florida, and for ten years developed apartment communities in Florida and Alabama. Bill's efforts are primarily focused on the company's Florida properties and relationships.
